Eye Cream Caffeine
Caffeine has some benefits to anti-aging eye creams that are commonly used to get rid of those dark circles, wrinkles or even cellulite, but too much of it can lead to negative effects on your skin.
Caffeine has three ways in which it primarily helps your skin. First, it’s an antioxidant because caffeine contains acids. Second, it’s a diuretic, which may make ones skin look smoother. Third, it’s a vasoconstrictor, which helps reduce the dark circles and puffiness around the eyes.
Topical applications of caffeine sodium benzoate are also said to have beneficial effects for skin because it acts as a sunscreen. Research has found that it helps inhibit formations of skin cancer induced by sunlight. Although, the studies suggest that these effects are minute.
Too much ingested caffeine can also dehydrate and thin the skin. Caffeine is a diuretic which increases the amount one urinates dehydrating the body. This can cause the appearance of dry skin depending on the amount of caffeine consumed. It can also lead to dark circles under the eye, which can have you clamoring for your best eye cream.
